Barb Cathey has been pastor at Edgewater since February 2004. She has previously served churches in Hinsdale and Aledo,IL and Hoboken, NJ. She is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and recently received her Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from McCormick Theological Seminary. She is currently serving as an advisor in the ACTS D.Min. in Preaching program. Barb is married to the Rev. Dr. Robert Cathey and is "Mom" to Laura, 23, and Paul, 19. Edgewater is a fascinating church with a dynamic congregation so there is never a dull moment!

If it has anything to do with the church building or tihe office (or a multitude of other things), Cleo is your mietniean! His laugh can be heard blocks away and his personality overflows to the neighborhood. He used to lead over 100 book discussions a year for the Chicago Public Library system and we are pleased to have him leading book discussions at EPC. He is a graduate of Lake Forest College and Mt. Carmel High School and the Vietnam School of Life Education, as well as many of his own unique endeavors.

Brooke Tippett Thompson - Music Director
Brooke is a gifted musician, bringing music from around the world and whipping the choir into shape week after week. She claims there is a "mini-miracle" that happens to the choir most Sundays between the 9:30 choir rehearsal and the 11:00 service. Brooke is also a gifted music teacher and recently received a Golden Apple award.

Rev. Dr. Walters served a number of Presbyterian churches in Cameroon and holds advanced degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary and various other institutions. He is the author of several books and has taught in schools and colleges in Chicago. He has a heart for evangelism and pastoral care and we are thankful that he is working with us.

Bookkeepers/Financial Records
Liz is a church member, the bookkeeper for Interfaith Worker Justice, and is a fascinating person. She handles staff payroll for the church.
Ross runs an administrative management company and has managed to get our books in order and keep us in the black. His wife Sharon was a seminary intern at EPC in another life!

Security Staff
Our church building is open from early morning to late at night thanks to all the programs and organizations that call EPC home. Our security staff gives everyone a friendly welcome and a secure place to be in the evenings and on week-ends.

Custodial Staff and Nursery
A building that gets as much use as ours requires a lot of cleaning. We're grateful to Arhet, our weekday morning and Sunday custodian; to Rosa, our afternoon custodian; to Anthony who cleans on Saturdays and to Cleo who handles everything else, coordinates it all and fills in whenever someone else can't come. Rosalinda cares for our youngest children on Sunday mornings in the nursery with the help of two rotating volunteers from the congregation.
