CARE FOR REAL
Care for Real is Edgewater's food pantry and clothing closet that serves over 3,000 individuals and families each month. Care for Real was founded over 25 years ago by ECRA to meet the need in the community; the religious congregations and neighborhood residents continue to be active supporters.
When it is available you can link to CFR's new website by clicking above.
At EPC we bring a particular item each month to donate, as well as giving clothes and funds and participating in the annual walk for hunger through which Care for Real raises almost $20,000 each year. To get EPC's donation schedule, (returning soon).
This year's Hunder Walk is at Soldier Field on June 26. It is part of the Greater Chicago Food Depository Walk. A link will be posted soon.
OUR MISSION PARTNERS IN THE EPC BUILDING
Our church building was erected to be the Community House of Edgewater Presbyterian Church. That why it doesn't "look like a church," as people tell us all the time. We believe it is a church in the fullest sense of what a church is intended to be -- a people and a place that serve God and God's people. For that reason we are committed to using our extraordinary building with its 75 rooms to serve the Edgewater community and beyond.
